Irwin Run Conservation Area

A closed portion of Irwin Road
provides a walking trail and
access to North Park trails.
Located along Babcock Boulevard in Pine Township, the Irwin Run Conservation Area is Allegheny Land Trust’s latest land acquisition project. This acquisition conserves forever approximately 73 acres adjacent to North Park, helping to buffer the park and protecting beneficial wetlands, densely wooded slopes and stream valley. The 1995 Allegheny County Greenway Plan identifies the valley in which this property lies as a proposed “Conservation Corridor.” A closed portion of Irwin Road (shown at right) provides a beautiful walking trail through the property and access to North Park trails.
Please read The Campaign to Save Irwin Run Valley on this property’s Stewardship page.

We have reached our goal and successfully
raised the funding needed to complete
purchase of this property for the
Irwin Run Conservation Area.
THANK YOU!
Through the generosity of many individual donors, foundations and corporations, we have successfully raised the funding needed to complete purchase of this property which now will be protected forever from development.
