Hall’s Field
In August of 2010, Allegheny Land Trust purchased Hall’s Field, a 5-acre parcel of land located in the Sewickley Heights Borough. The property consists of a large downward sloping meadow, with a small forested region near the basin. Hall’s Field is located within an area known as the Campmeeting Woods Biological Diversity Area (BDA). This area is recognized as one of "High Diversity" by the Allegheny County Natural Heritage Inventory, and contains two occurrences of State Significance—there is a Medium Gradient Clearwater Creek Community and a Mesic Central Forest Community.
In coming years, ALT hopes to continue preservation of the Sewickley Heights landscape and this property will serve as an integral link and the first step towards this vision and expanding greenway. There is a horse pathway through the heart of Hall’s Field, which plays an integral role in the annual Sewickley Hunt.
