Conservation Benefits

Bench at Bradford Woods Reserve.

The primary benefit of the Bradford Woods Reserve is that it will continue to serve the community in the form of greenways and scenic landscapes.  The Reserve offers walking/hiking trails, which allow the local neighborhoods access to a natural landscape as a retreat from the suburban space surrounding it.

In addition to the scenic benefits that the Reserve has, the easement will also serve to protect its plant species and water quality.  There are many native species that live on the eastern edge of the property as part of the stream habitat, including may apple, skunk cabbage, and Virginia creeper.

Overall, the protection from development allows for the native flora and fauna to be preserved, and a properly functioning habitat will be maintained forever.
